Performance Technologies’ ComLink™ Serial Driver provides users of our intelligent, high-speed synchronous/serial communications adapters an easy way to run a variety of SunSoft™ communications protocols.

ComLink is designed to provide a transparent link between the SunSoft protocols and our communications adapters. ComLink is capable of sustaining high-speed data rates for the variety of protocols that are used in telecommunications and data communications applications.

ComLink can also be used as a standard API and Solaris™ driver for non-SunSoft applications.

Users of Sun’s suite of communication protocols, such as X.25, Frame Relay, PPP, Internetwork Router (IR), etc., can quickly and easily integrate our communications adapters for PCI, CompactPCI®, or PMC-based systems with the desired SunSoft protocol.

High-Performance Hardware

Performance Technologies’ communications adapters provide users with an intelligent four- or eight-port, high-speed synchronous/serial communications interface. These modules are proven high-speed, programmable, sync/serial controllers that support the variety of protocols that are used in sync/serial data communication applications. ComLink supports all PCI-based platforms that run Solaris 2.X and Solaris X.86, as well as the PCI, PMC, and CompactPCI form factors.

Operating under typical protocol overheads, these adapters achieve a sustained throughput of over 2 Mb/s full-duplex on each of their channels simultaneously. The adapters support a wide array of communication interfaces, including RS-232C, RS-422/449 and V.35.

Supported Hardware Adapters

The following intelligent synchronous WAN communications adapters provide four highperformance sync/serial channels for WAN connectivity.

• PCI334A: Motorola MC68360 QUICC™ processor, 4 MB of shared SRAM memory
  
• CPC340H: Motorola MC68360 QUICC processor, 4 MB of shared DRAM memory

Performance Technologies warrants its products against defects in parts and labor for a period of 12 months from the date of shipment.

• Six month extended warranty from date of shipment for 5% of list price of the product.
  
• 12 month extended warranty from date of shipment for 10% of list price of the product.
  
• 18 month extended warranty from date of shipment for 15% of list price of the product.
  
• 24 month extended warranty from date of shipment for 20% of list price of the product.
