Voyant Technologies Uses Performance Technologies' IPnexus®
Circuit Switch for Conferencing System
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - October 14, 2003 - Performance Technologies
(Nasdaq NM: PTIX) today announced Voyant Technologies, the leader in group
voice communication, is using the company's IPnexus® TDM
Circuit Switch and NexusWare™
software in its on-demand ReadiVoice® conferencing
system. Performance Technologies' IPnexus
products offer embedded building blocks based on the PICMG® 2.16 Packet Switching Backplane specification.
ReadiVoice is the world's first reservation-less, on-demand
conferencing system. Combining the latest in hardware and software technology,
Voyant's ReadiVoice meets the growing demands for high capacity, always-available,
totally automated conferencing. Voyant is using Performance Technologies'
IPnexus CPC396 TDM Circuit Switch
and NexusWare software as a high-density
trunk interface for voice ports in the ReadiVoice system.
"As the solution preferred and used by the world's top 10 conferencing
service providers, ReadiVoice is a carrier-grade system designed for high
volume traffic and extreme reliability," said Randy Schultz, vice president,
engineering, Voyant Technologies. "We selected Performance Technologies' products
because of their scalability, reliability and high performance."
The IPnexus CPC396
was specifically designed to be the ideal adapter for IP telephony applications
requiring the manipulation of large numbers of voice and data circuits. Based
on the comprehensive capability of the CPC396
and the associated Performance Technologies Linux-based NexusWare
software, designers of carrier-grade, VoIP, wireless infrastructure equipment
and other voice/data devices are able to reduce time-to-market and improve
profitability of their products.
"Our packet-based hardware and software technology are designed
to provide the industry's leading high availability solutions for embedded
applications," said Ed Bizari, director of marketing for Performance Technologies.
