Performance Technologies Wins Product of the Year Award for its Industry Leading Embedded Ethernet Switch

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - December 17, 2002 - Performance Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PTIX) announced today its IPnexus® CPC6400 embedded Ethernet switch has won the 2002 "Product of the Year" award presented by Internet Telephony® magazine. Selected based on Performance Technologies' ongoing vision, leadership and technical innovation, the IPnexus CPC6400 facilitates the use of IP/Ethernet in all forms of communications and networking.

Performance Technologies' CPC6400 embedded Ethernet switch is the first, full wire speed 24 port embedded Ethernet switch to maximize the capabilities of the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG®) 2.16 standard. This innovative switch enables developers to reach speeds of up to 40 times that of PCI-based systems by offering up to 4 Gigabits of bandwidth to every slot of a standard or extended 2.16 CompactPCI® chassis. Performance Technologies began shipping this product to customers in July 2002.
