Our CompactPCI/PSB products are equipped with an SNMP agent. In order to manage these products via an SNMP client, you must load all the MIBs we support into your MIB browser. Many of these MIBs are described in RFC files that are available at no charge on the Internet.
In some cases, before you load a particular MIB, you must first load other MIBs containing Object Type definitions required by that MIB. The Imports section, following the Begin statement in the ASN.1MIB portion of the RFC, will indicate that other MIBs are required.
An RFC that is a revision or enhancement of a previous RFC will include a description of any changes, as in the following statement from RFC 2233 describing enhancements to RFC 1213:
" This memo also includes a MIB module. As well as including new MIB definitions to support the architectural extensions, this MIB module also re-specifies the 'interfaces' group of MIB-II in a manner that is both compliant to the SNMPv2 SMI and semantically identical to the existing SNMPv1-based definitions. "
We support SNMP V1, V2c, and V3, and therefore we include both RFC 1213 and RFC 2233. Your MIB browser should also support these SNMP versions; if it does, the following MIBs will be compiled and available to you already:
SNMPv2-SMI ...................................... rfc1442.mib
SNMPv2-MIB ...................................... rfc1907.mi2
TEXTUAL-CONVENTION MACRO ... rfc1903.mib
You should load the following public, proprietary, and private MIBs for use with Performance Technologies’ CompactPCI/PSB products:
