Performance Technologies Offers Signaling Address Solution with Full TCAP Support on SEGway™ Point Code Emulation™
March 27, 2007 - Rochester, NY and Orlando, FL - Performance Technologies (NASDAQ: PTIX), a leading developer of communications platforms and systems, announced today at CTIA Wireless 2007 significant enhancements to the industry's only complete dedicated Signaling network address translation solution, SEGway™ Point Code Emulation, with the addition of support for TCAP message types. This new capability allows application servers supporting wireless applications including Home Location Registers (HLRs), Mobile Switching Centers (MSCs) and enhanced services such as CLASS features to seamlessly expand capacity, as multiple application servers can be aliased under a single point code.
SEGway Point Code Emulation is the only dedicated network solution that offers service providers the ability to transparently configure, expand and manipulate network elements without disrupting or reconfiguring the Signaling network. With dynamic SS7 mapping algorithms and IP interworking, it offers seamless network migration while eliminating high-risk network overhaul procedures and costly translation coordination when reconfiguring network elements. Whether deployed on the edge or centrally located in the network, TCAP message support enables service providers to fully leverage the benefits of Point Code Emulation capability for both call set-up and application traffic traversing the network.
"This expanded functionality significantly increases the market for our SEGway signaling solutions where carriers need to grow or reconfigure their HLRs and other application servers," said Patt Rice, vice president and general manager for Performance Technologies' Signaling Systems Group. "Our SEGway solutions coupled with Point Code Emulation, allows service providers to take their networks to the next level with the flexibility they need for IP and circuit-switched signaling all in a high performance platform."
Performance Technologies is a leading provider of next-generation signaling products designed for SS7 and IP connectivity. The company's unique suite of feature-rich SEGway signaling products enables carriers to reduce infrastructure costs while simultaneously implementing a variety of value-add service offerings for their customers.
