Software Engineer

Location: Rochester, NY

Job Summary:

The Software Engineer will be responsible for low level telephony hardware, call management protocols and call control software packages within a Linux distribution. Tasks will include building source code for multiple different architectures, creating custom APIs for ease of use and packaging/configuring for distribution within an existing product. The Software Engineer will be responsible for multiple interfaces including a programmatic API and SNMP. Long term responsibilities will include testing and support of all integrated components; including training and customer trials.

Experience Required

The Software Engineer should have experience with developing Device Drivers, APIs and libraries under Linux, using C and C++ programming required. Applicant should have general knowledge and experience in most of the following areas:

• Creating and defining easy to use APIs
  
• IP networking
  
• Working with 3rd party and open source packages
  
• Using GNU tools, creating development tools
  
• Solaris
  
• Basic telephony (T1/E1/J1 transports, TDM, SIP, MGCP)
  

Education:

• Requires a BSEE, BSCE, BSCS or equivalent. Five years of experience preferred.
